What can I do to prevent brown sludge forming in my reservoir? There is a hole on top on top where light is getting in (your design) and I am aerating my reservoir to circulate the nutrient solution.
Should I be using a water pump instead to circulate the nutrients to keep them mixed? Would adding a UV light prevent this from happening? Should I be adding some Hydrogen Peroxide to my water tank and if so, how much?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
March 30, 2020 at 6:34 pm #358JoshKeymasterHi Tom, Simply just pot the plants up into the inert substrate and you will be fine…… if you really wanted to remove the existing soil you can do this with warm water and carefully but it will shock the plant/s…..it is easier simply to just pot up….. take a look at the potting up guide on the home page.

PS, I would call you but I am in Canada so 6 hours different and long distance.

May 11, 2020 at 11:24 am #425JoshKeymasterHi Peter, I have just had a look at the image, this is residue from the fertilisers you are using, as I said email over your number and I will call you. Please let me know all the types of fertilisers you are using when I call.

Thank you
