Hi Josh, I have a few questions about Cal/Mag supplements with Autpots that I could use your expertise on…
1. If using distilled or RO water would you recommend pre-treating coco coir with a Cal/Mag supplement when preparing the AutoPot?
2. If using distilled or RO water would you recommend using Cal/Mag supplements throughout the grow?
3. If using a GH cal/mag supplement would it be CALiMAGic instead of CaMg+? Looks like CaMg+ is organic and could cause clogging
Hi Al….. I’m a BIG believer of flushing the coco through in the pot 1st before I plant up…… I do this by using warm water pH 5.5 and around 5-10 ltrs sometime I add half strength feed too so the coco is primed and I know it’s ready to use….. Cal/ Mag can also be used to flush and throughout the crop…. but I never have …. I’ve found that if I do this 1st the crop always start off well and I’m not wondering if there is an imbalance in the coco substrate or it is still young and not been allowed to sit for at least 12 months prior to being packed.
