July 16, 2020 at 11:55 am #549JoshKeymasterAs long as you are using a suitable substrate that have good capillary action you will be fine the top is always dry that’s where the salts collect….. please take a look at the brochure on the home page and potting up guide

In reply to: Last pot in chain not getting water
July 16, 2020 at 11:48 am #533JoshKeymasterTrays will never fill at the same time unless the pressure is very high….. if water is getting to the tray via the AQUAvalve at different times I would not worry

In reply to: How to grow carrot with the autopot
June 3, 2020 at 12:59 pm #468JoshKeymasterHi I will be growing carrots in the XL pots in the RnD facility you can follow us on the AutoPot FB page….. All plants will basically consume the same feed, it is the strength of feed applied to the water that matters….. Obviously commercial growers will use a dedicated feed.. When growing lettuce or herbs we generally feed at Ec levels depending on the starting Ec of your water at 1.2-1.5….. or half strength feed….. Tomatoes/peppers/cucumbers will be full strength feed at an Ec of 1.8-2.2….. I hope this helps…..

In reply to: Cal/Mag Supplements
June 3, 2020 at 12:31 pm #463JoshKeymasterHi Al….. I’m a BIG believer of flushing the coco through in the pot 1st before I plant up…… I do this by using warm water pH 5.5 and around 5-10 ltrs sometime I add half strength feed too so the coco is primed and I know it’s ready to use….. Cal/ Mag can also be used to flush and throughout the crop…. but I never have …. I’ve found that if I do this 1st the crop always start off well and I’m not wondering if there is an imbalance in the coco substrate or it is still young and not been allowed to sit for at least 12 months prior to being packed.

In reply to: What size autopot
June 3, 2020 at 12:26 pm #461JoshKeymasterHi Scott, it really depends on how big you are growing the plants and for how long…….. if going big the XL….. if growing smaller the 3.9….. it really is a matter of choice.

June 3, 2020 at 12:24 pm #459JoshKeymasterHi….. CANNA boost should not be used in the reservoir if you do use this you should add a small water pump to move the water around… NOT an air stone….. also do you have flush taps at the ends of your pipework to flush regularly ….. its not the height of the reservoirs it’s the nutrients that are causing the issue. Have a read of the brochure on the homepage too as this will help
