In reply to: Root restrictor copper worn off which way to place?
July 24, 2023 at 12:47 pm #1238JoshKeymasterthe copper is still there, it has just oxidised….. if you look at the imprint of the pot on the fabric this is the copper side but it will not really matter which side it is place into the pot or in the tray

In reply to: Beginner Mistake / Black Rootcontrol
June 5, 2023 at 9:55 am #1229JoshKeymasterHi … If you place the Root control square in the tray gold face up this will be fine, I would be careful using water tight tape as the adhesive may leach out into the water.
In reply to: AirDome in Organic Soil?
May 30, 2023 at 12:13 pm #1226JoshKeymasterIf using the AirDomes ensure that the medium is open/free draining to maximise the effectiveness of the airdome.. you can add perlite to the soil to achieve this.
In reply to: Root bound – can I do better?
May 30, 2023 at 12:10 pm #1224JoshKeymasterHi There….. This is how AutoPot works…. don’t worry as the top section becomes an air root zone…. cheers Josh
In reply to: Autopot XXL – Living Soil – Moisture
May 30, 2023 at 11:56 am #1222JoshKeymasterHi …. using moisture meters with AutoPot is pointless as the plant is controlling the water uptake via the AQUAvalve…. I think you are over worrying, are the plants looking OK, if so simply let the system do it’s thing … Regards Josh….. if you need further help as I am based in the UK, have a chat with the chaps at http://www.autopot-usa.com
In reply to: clay pebbles
May 30, 2023 at 11:41 am #1220JoshKeymasterHi, using pebbles is OK but they are quite alkaline if not stabilised first ….. I would suggest using the AirBases as they have been designed to be used instead of pebbles.
Cheers Josh
In reply to: Flexitank (Pro) above pot level or not?
April 10, 2023 at 1:32 pm #1195JoshKeymasterHi There….. This size reservoir will be fine to place directly on the ground, just ensure the ground is level, check with a spirit level and that you re-fill the reservoir when there is a third of the solution left.

April 10, 2023 at 1:29 pm #1193JoshKeymasterHi There, I presume there are directions on the packaging suggesting a dilution rate per volume of water, I would simply suggest that you follow the guidelines and you will be perfectly fine.
In reply to: No air thru Airdomes
March 24, 2023 at 1:42 pm #1189JoshKeymasterHi There…. have you connected on to an air pump and put the airdome in a bowl of water to see what happens…. only a small amount of air is required at the base of the pot…. also where are you in the world so we can direct you to the nearest supplier if required…. cheers Josh
In reply to: Autopot Aquavalves not emptying
March 5, 2023 at 12:03 pm #1183JoshKeymasterHi Rob,
Have you ensued that you have pushed the upper silicon in the top float firmly in the recess and made sure that it is creating a parallel seal on the hole below, this will ensure that it floods and drains correctly.Hold it at eye level to see that it is sitting on the hole below correctly. Also ensure the tray is empty before you carry out this procedure …. always place an AQUAvalve in the tray when no water is present. Regards Josh

In reply to: Citrus trees in AutoPot?
January 20, 2023 at 2:12 pm #1176JoshKeymasterHi Ronald,
Personally I have grown citrus plants/trees in AutoPot for many years in greenhouses and outside with no issues at all, the growth is fantastic, we simply used a citrus feed and have never encountered any issues with salts and rain washing them down. We would suggest that if you have AutoPot outside that if it rains heavily and for longe periods simply turn off the reservoir and then turn it back on when the rain has subsided and the solution in the tray has been consumed.
